"Unlike my previous endeavors as Harmonic Illusion, rather than releasing a heavily sample-based work, I present to you today an original composition of mine. There are still samples worked into the arrangement, but they are not the main focus in this piece.
I originally wrote this back in 2011-2012, when I was very young. Like a good chunk of my earliest ideas, I knew there was a potential to create something great, but my lack of ability and less of a creative mind left there much to be desired. I'm sure I recorded a demo or two back then, but they are since lost to time (as far as I can tell).
I once again took on the task of recording this piece in 2017, this time being able to add various experimental textures, part of which were my first journeys into "electronic" music, (although at this time I was more into progressive rock than I was electronic). This recording wasn't terrible, but it eventually got scrapped due to a lack of direction.
Fast forward to 2022-2023, I find myself returning to this piece in hopes to realize the full potential that it deserved from the beginning. Taking my newly developed electronic-based production style and fusing it with the psychedelic rock that I have loved so very much, I found a way to make this music hit even harder than it had ever before. This version mixes sampled elements, newly composed elements, and stems from the 2017 recording (notably the manipulated vocals and ambient guitars).
In addition to this, I am so grateful to have the help of Zoloft and Jazzseba (Sebastian Lopez Bustos) on this piece, as they truly added something special to the mix that I could not have found anywhere else. Thank you both, truly.
With that, I hope you enjoy the final result of this tune after the amazing journey and progression it has been through." - Harmonic Illusion
